The franco-kiwi couple Emily and Laurent Huchard established Simply French at the end of 2006. The business is based in Dunedin but the couple live in both New Zealand and France. Laurent is the French part of the couple and he is a professional guitar-maker and has been for more than ten years now. Emily after finishing her BA in French at Otago University in 1999 left to live the French way and has not looked back since.
We are a small business importing unique antique French furniture and household accessories into New Zealand once a year. As we live for six months at a time in France we have plenty of time to source specific items while there. We specialise in the rustic French country look with most of our pieces coming from the 19th and 20th century periods As we have experienced in France, this kind of furniture is not only for people looking for an old worldly look but also for new contemporary style living too.
